House-institution: a case study of an adolescent with a history in the juvenile justice system

Abstract

The objective drawn by this research was to analyze the repetition of the infraction act as one of the operators of family dynamics. The interpretations on the case analyzed show how the family home became a place of passage, while the house-institution remained the only place of protection for some of its members. The study also indicates the fragility of the public policies aimed at the subjects who, after fulfilling socio-educational measures, are radically helpless. The testimony paradigm is brought as a form of resistance in the face of the contemporary sociopolitical breakdowns that aggravate the civilizing malaise.
